Privacy policy

What we collect when you book a room or send us a message, what we do with it, and how to get it back or have it deleted. In plain English, because it should be.

Who we are

Stalkers Studio is a rehearsal studio in Northampton, run by Paul Brown. We are the data controller for the personal information described here, which means we are the ones responsible for looking after it.

Unit G5, Ground Floor
Nene Enterprise Centre
Freehold Street
Northampton, NN2 6EF

Email sandsp@hotmail.co.uk about anything on this page.

What we collect

Only what we need to run the studio.

  • When you create an account: your name, email address, mobile number and, if you give one, your band name. Your password is handled by our login provider and we never see it.
  • When you book: the room, the date and time, the price, whether the booking is for under-18s, and the contact details above so we know whose session it is.
  • When you pay: the payment itself is taken by Square. We receive a record that the payment succeeded and a reference for it. We never see or store your card number.
  • When you use the contact form: your name, email address, your phone number if you choose to give it, and your message.
  • If you accept analytics cookies: anonymous statistics about how the site is used. See cookies below.

Why we use it

To give you the room you booked, to take payment for it, to refund you if you cancel in time, and to reply when you get in touch. That is our contract with you, and for the studio records we have to keep it is our legitimate interest in running the business properly.

Analytics only ever happens with your consent, and you can take that back at any time.

We do not sell your information, we do not share it for advertising, and we will not send you marketing you did not ask for.

Who else sees it

Only the companies that make the site and the bookings work, and only as far as they need to:

  • Square — takes card payments and handles refunds.
  • Supabase — stores the accounts, bookings and messages.
  • Vercel — hosts and serves the website.
  • Google — the map on the site is a Google Maps embed, and if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics.

Some of these are based outside the UK. Where information goes abroad it is protected by the safeguards those companies have in place, such as the UK addendum to the standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Booking and payment records are kept for six years, because HMRC expects a business to be able to show its accounts going back that far.

Your account stays until you ask us to close it. Contact form messages are kept while we are dealing with them and then for up to two years, in case the same thing comes up again.

Cookies

A cookie is a small file a website leaves on your device. We use as few as we can.

  • Essential. These keep you signed in, keep your booking together while you pay, and keep the site secure. The site cannot work without them, so they do not need your permission.
  • Your cookie choice. We store your answer to the cookie banner in your browser so we stop asking. It never leaves your device.
  • Analytics. Only if you accept. These tell us things like which pages get looked at and on what sort of device, so we know what to improve. Nothing loads and nothing is measured until you say yes.
  • The map. The map showing where we are is served by Google, and Google may set its own cookies when it loads.

Changed your mind? Or clear the cookies for this site in your browser settings.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to limit what we do with it, or object to us using it. You can also withdraw consent for analytics whenever you like.

Email us and we will sort it within a month, at no charge.

If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you told us first, so we can put it right.
